In June 2017, our company in Ghent received the Environmental Charter for the 19th time in a row. For Aalst, this was the 18th time. The Environmental Charter is aimed at companies that want to pursue an active and structured environmental policy and see environmental care as a permanent fixture within the company.
Those who participate in the Environmental Charter commit themselves to carry out concrete actions within the company during the cycle. The actions are determined by the company itself and must exceed legal requirements. With projects on energy saving, waste reduction, participation in biodiversity initiatives, etc…, HMEL always submitted a successful action plan.
