Your job as Customs Manager
As a Customs Manager, you and your Customs team in Ghent are responsible for carrying out our pan-European Customs activities.
You get energy from
- Coordinate, organize and follow up the Customs activities;
- Optimize and continuously improve various Customs processes and procedures;
- Initiate and coordinate various projects;
- Inform and advise the management and the internal customers, from all divisions and logistic branches;
- Keep yourself continuously informed of new developments within Customs;
- Manage and motivate your team;
- Participate actively in improvement projects for the department (software transformation project, optimizing working methods, system testing & validation, etc.);
- Back-up your employees who monitor and handle incoming and outgoing flows on a daily basis.
Your strenghts
- You combine your higher education with 5 years of relevant work experience in an international business context. Knowledge of operational and logistics flows is a plus.
- You have experience in a management role.
- You keep your knowledge about Customs and its evolutions and developments continuously up to date.
- You have experience with Customs systems, both internal and external. Experience with SAP (GTS) is a plus.
- Your communication skills, flexibility and hands-on mentality are among your strongest assets.
- You get along well with Ms Office.
- You express yourself fluently in Dutch and English.
