Certification Engineer

 

Your job and responsibilities:

  • You monitor developments in European and international technical legislation and advise the internal Honda network on this.
  • You study technical files, prepare accurate and on-time administration and consult with European authorities to obtain international approvals and certificates.
  • Based on your expertise, you are responsible for the relevant reporting and flow of information to all relevant departments, both within Honda (including to the coordination centre in Japan and our European head office) and to our national importers.
  • You report to the Head of the Certification Department and are in close contact with our offices in Europe and Japan.

Your profile:

  • You have a technical bachelor’s or master’s degree (for instance in Automotive Engineering, (electro)mechanics, etc) or an equivalent diploma combined with a passion for technology.
  • With your precise and rule-oriented attitude, you guarantee the administrative follow-up of the technical files.
  • As a team player, you are proactive, with a sense of initiative.
  • You thrive in a multicultural and multilingual environment.
  • You are fluent in English (command of other languages is an added advantage).
  • You are prepared to travel every now and then for your job.

About us:

  • The Certification and Regulatory Affairs division of Honda Motor Europe in Aalst, Belgium, is an advisory and coordination office for all European and International Certification & Regulatory Affairs activities of Honda. Within this division, the Certification Department is responsible for:
    • Obtaining European and International approvals for all Honda products according to the global business plan.
    • Providing related analyses and interpretations of technical legislation to all Honda departments to ensure the technical compliance of Honda products.
    • Commissioning the national registration systems and ensuring smooth market access in the EU and UK of all Honda products in support of the national sales branches and distributors.
